gita in barca a Positano e Li Galli

It’s still summer: treat yourself to a boat trip to Positano and Li Galli

September is the perfect month to organize a boat trip. Temperatures are milder, the beaches and the classic summer destinations are less crowded, the sea is cleaner. For these reasons, September is ideal for enjoying a boat trip, both for those who have chosen to go on vacation at this time of the year, and for those who are returning from vacation, but want to carve out a few more days of relaxation before the autumn comes.

A perfect boat trip for the last glimpse of summer is to Positano and Li Galli: a tour by Sea You Aboard, to discover two jewels of the Amalfi Coast, two enchanted placesthat have inspired many artists, with their charm timeless.

Our boat tour to discover Positano and Li Galli

This boat trip lasts nine hours and starts from the port of Castellammare di Stabia, convenient and easily accessible.

After departure, the navigation continues along Sorrento, the Bagni della Regina Giovanna and Punta Campanella, three charming symbols of the Sorrento coast: three iconic places that show all their beauty to those who come from the sea.

The Bagni della Regina Giovanna owes their fascinating name to Queen Giovanna D’Angiò, sovereign of Naples, who apparently frequented the Sorrento coasts and in particular this extraordinary place, a sort of natural swimming pool, enclosed between the rocky beach and the famous cliffs of Sorrento.

Punta Campanella, on the other hand, is a fascinating promontory, a sort of conjunction between the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast, but also a wonderful protected marine area.

The navigation then proceeds passing in front of the bay of Jeranto, a precious inlet in the Sorrento coast, now owned by the FAI, the Italian Fund for the Environment. This magical place is also known as “Land of the Sirens”: the myth tells that it is precisely on the extreme tip of the peninsula that the Sirens bewitched Ulysses.

The trip continues to the Li Galli archipelago, in the stretch of sea between Capri and Positano, within the protected marine area of Punta Campanella.

It has three small islands: Gallo Lungo, which resembles the shape of a dolphin, La Rotonda and La Castelluccia (or Isola dei Briganti).

These islands have been the destination of great artists fascinated by the natural and uncontaminated context: the directors Franco Zeffirelli and Steven Spielberg, the actresses Anna Magnani, Sophia Loren and Ingrid Bergman, the couple of the international jet set Jacqueline Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis. But among all we cannot forget Rudolf Nureyev, who bought the three islets in 1989 and kept the property until his death in 1993, deeply loving these extraordinary places.

We will drop anchor in these waters for a relaxing break, lots of swimming and a delicious aperitif on board.

Finally, we leave for Positano, with three hours of free time to visit this wonderful city, to be enchanted by the narrow streets, the breathtaking views and the shopping streets. Here we will admire the linen dresses of the famous Positano beachwear and the unmistakable handmade sandals.
